SASSA are going to be rendering services which include new social grant applications, change of payment method, consumer treatment enquiries, together with the Social Relief of Distress (SRD) COVID-19 grant enquiries.

In an announcement, the agency mentioned it is alarmed with regard to the substantial quantity of people depending on social grants for survival.
“The aim sassa status check on the Integrated Registration Outreach Programme [ICROP] is to reach-out to the substantial number of clients/beneficiaries to access SASSA services.

“This can be a result of the lack of infrastructure at Fernie and there's no completely functional office committed to sassa service the area regularly. The service stage designed for intervention ordeals a high influx of possible beneficiaries, which makes it tricky to the office to attend to all people who check out a service point.

“In this reach-out programme, SASSA will mobilise far more means to help the servicing of all customers and increase usage of Social Assistance solutions,” the agency said.
